Just bought a 2013 Black Diamond edition to replace the Tonka truck as a daily driver. The Tonka truck will get built up for camping now

You mean the Tonka Truck isn't built up already.  ;) So what mods are in the works for the BDE?

Thanks guys  the BDE is going to get mild must haves until it gets paid down a little. We put vent visors on it and it came with new wheels and tires. It has a leather interior and no seat heaters (n) and it needs a double din
The Tonka truck is going to get a lot of rhino liner put into it along with some tech upgrades and a double din. Right now we are driving them both daily since we got rear ended in the Chrysler  :E:

Wrecked my 2003 in July "17' and replaced it with 2013 in Aug "17". So the answer is a definite Yes. Cannot beat the versatility and fun factor. Avalanche for life. (y)

The answer is yes.  I just bought my 4th Avalanche yesterday.

2013 Black Diamond.  I still have my '04 Z71.  I wish they still made these.

I would...I did!! I had a 2012 LT and I actually traded it in for a 2010 LTZ because it had the 6.2L engine. Made a hug difference. Love the truck even more now!

I did! Owned a ?06 LS since 2011 and just bought a 2010 LTZ with the 6.2L! Man that engine makes a big difference!

maximus16v and broley72 are you both sure your AVs have a 6.2 motor in them? I have read over the years about a few Canadian AVs having a 6.0 and of course I believe the Cadillac EXT had a 6.2 but not the AV.....
Glad you both are enjoying your AVs!

Yes the 6.2 L9H engine were available in the AV in Canada in the 2010 year only

Huh relearn something every day if you live long enough.  >:D

Can't even count the threads I read in the past 8 years.....
Thanks MS03 2500.

Yeah it surprised me too I had to look at GM Canada site and sure enough, it was listed as a option a clone EXT

Sweden won't be the same without your AV Stefan N

I just did.  Went from an '03 to a '13 BDE.    I will say this to GM:  If you had an '18 Avalanche for sale, I would have bought a brand new one instead.  I also looked at Silverado w/High Desert option, but its just not the same thing and I knew I'd never be happy.    For now, I love my new BDE!

At first I would have said yes immediately. After owning the 2007 model for almost 10 years now I would have to think about it some. I have had most of the Avalanche gremlins rear their ugly head. Gauge cluster replaced, 5.3 AFM engine failure, cracked dash...
All of that has been repaired now and I really like the truck now.

Yep! That's why I snatched her up! Aluminum block too! I think that engine will be with me forever! LOL

I absolutely LOVE Avalanches.

In wet snow country of upstate New York, it feels like a SAFE vehicle. Dressed up, you can still go out to a formal event, and haul stuff the next day.

1st was a leased 2007 Z-71 $X$ LT# (basically an LTZ after add-ons). Swapped wheels and rims for 22" and wider.
2nd was a used 2004 (that has the Cadillac middle console (a more luxe interior)
3rd was a used 2011 (with 38K miles)

I would buy a 2013, but can't find one with less miles than my 2011 (now 52K miles).

Complaints?
the tailgate plastic is cheesy and weak.
The headlights swap out is asinine.
I hate the degraded plastic (always having to "SHINE UP") rails above the truck bed.

But building a truck that LOOKS as nice as an Avalanche (they don't look as good) is $75K+

Now the interiors of the new trucks are incredible (especially the Ford Truck interiors).

I've had a 2012 LTZ and a 2013 LTZ BDE. I'd buy another if they came back out with an updated shorter length model with a 6.2L or supercharged/turbo and not as heavy.
