Hmmmm....about a week, give or take a day...

(that was more than 10 minutes ago - hard to remember.. )

sorry...I hate remembering stuff too...I'd forget my screenname if I hadnt written it in my undies...

Great Job Mo  (y)

When I first saw the thread I was going to alert someone to merge it into the main thread...

Until I read what it was all about.

Again, Great Idea !!!

Mine is on order and should be in tomorrow.  I'm sure I'll tackle this over the weekend.  I'll defintely post before and after pics when I get wrapped up.

I just ordered it for my truck. What should I use to clean the plastic? Soap and water? Sponge or brush? I have heard that it should sit in the sun to activate is this true?

Thanks,
John

Everything you need to know can be found in the link here to the ORIGINAL THREAD.

It's long, but there is a lot of good info, and all your questions will be answered.

The pictures of this stuff are great, BUT....

pics still don't do justice for how good this looks.  I got to see ChevyGuyNC's av and MoAv both this weekend and they are spectacular.  Two coats and it looks like a show truck.  I wonder what 4 coats would do, hmmmmm >:D

well, what ya waiting for?

Sorry about that. I have tested it on the small fender extensions and it works great. JSal and I have yet to get together. He has a piece of scrap cladding and I have some gatorback that I will spray it with and we will test it on the Gatorback. Been real hectic last week so we havent gotten together yet. Will as soon as we do.

The refinish restorer is AMAZING.  (y)Thank you guys for never giving up on your cladding. I put 2 coats on yesterday and it looked really good. So today I got to thinking what would a 3rd coat look like? It looks AWESOME!  :eek:Even above the 3rd brake light. I think this stuff is the real deal I will always have some on hand. BTW I think that another coat would be a little too glossy for me. I wish I would have taken some pics, but trust me it looks GOOD!! The good thing is I only used maybe a third of the can.

No, no, no... don't think I was bashing you guys at all.  I just want to see how the GB holds up when you get the chance to test it.  Don't want to mess up what I have ya' know?  I love the glossy look.  I hope the GB holds up to the treatment and it just makes it glossy, that way it will match my DGM even better! :B:

I applied the RR last night. It looks great I took pictures but I have no clue as to how I can post them on this site.

That looks GREAT JOHN_2003-AV!!!  Beautiful Av  (y)  The cladding looks brand new now - kind of like having a whole new truck isn't it...

It really did a great job... I applied it to the Nerf bar plastic (which is black), mirrors, door molding and front bumper. I couldn't believe the results. I have guys at my fire house lining up to use it on there plastic. I should start charging people.

I have a WBH and also used it on all the black molding, bumpers, mirrors etc. too.

Great stuff.

My buddy has a boat and the Gel-Coat is white and Maroon.

For years the maroon has been cloudy, hazy, and white-ish.

I applied the refinish Restorer to the maroon part and it came back to almost new condition.

He couldn't believe his eyes.   He said it hadn't looked that good in years.

He also said that he had tried every marine product (plus some) under the sun, including compounding it with a wheel.

The only other way he said to get it back (the way I got it with Refinish Restorer) would be to wet sand it, then compound, and wax.  And he didn't want to put all that work into it every year.

Refinish Restorer is just plain AMAZING stuff.

When to re-apply?  Good question.  Mine's going on 4 months now, and no need yet.  That's probably close to 8000 miles driving too...still looks as good as the day I put it on.  I was going to re-apply it to go to nationals, but when I really looked at it, it didn't need it.  So I'm still on the original application.

When will I have to reapply? I have heard it lasts a year.

Does it really matter ?

As of now you have to apply an Armoral type substance on your cladding everytime it rains, or you wash the truck.

So even if you had apply the RR twice a year, it would be way better than Armoral type products.

Up to this point I don't know of anyone who has had to reapply the Refinish Restorer.

The person using Refinish Restorer the longest has had it on since October 2007 (9 Months and counting) and it still looks as good as when first applied.

I'm putting mine on now!  I don't know how long it will last, but this is what I have been doing in my garage:

:woohoo:

I got the first coat on all the upper cladding.  I have a feeling that the humidity here in Missouri is slowing the dry time considerably.  Hopefully I will be able to do a 2nd coat tomorrow night.  Thanks again MoAv for all your posts on this product.

BTW, I wasnt' planning on doing the bottom cladding because it still looked new compared to the upper cladding, however now it looks faded compared to what I just did with the Refinish Restorer!  Looks like I have plans for the next few nights.....
