My XM Radio Install

Ok, AJ next question. If you had to do it all over again, would you still get that model? Do you know if nanvagating through XM is easier with another version? The thing that I liked about the 77 is that it is close to stock-looking. I take it that the face is removable as well?
Thanks for the answers. Durwin

The only thing is the non-scrolling characters. I'm not sure if it's a function of the XM tuner, or the PEH-D77. I would check if there are any other Pioneer head units that might scroll - but I doubt that they would be the oversized GM model...

ps - I also got four new speakers waiting to go in, as soon as the weather is warmer. TS-C160R for the fronts, and TS-D160Rs in the rear.

I think you are right. My Pioneer HU has scrolling capability, but it is single DIN. I don't beleive there are any oversized models that can scroll

i have the DEH-P640. it scrolls CD text if you press the display button. i have not found a way to scroll XM displays though. :B:

Chief,

How did you route the Terk2 antenna wiring inside the cab?

SafetySam's post with routing along the passenger side and through the glove box said it took 18' of wire.

The Terk2 comes with 10.5' of cable.

Thanks in advance for your reply!

I was a wimp and I farmed out the work to Car Toys so I couldn't tell you how they did it. Sorry...

A second routing option would be down the center under the carpet, but I'm not sure that would save you 4 feet since you still have to go far left or right to get around the rear window and mid-gate.

I would suggest some type of extension. I was installing a CB radio on the left side of the console and knew I had lots of cable. Depending upon the radio location and being very careful about laying the cable might gain you some.

I'm surprised to read that no one seemed to try the Terk SR-1 antenna (Glass mount). With the receiver under my passnger seat, the wire routing from under the seat under the door threshold molding and up the A-piller took 2 minutes. I do have to admit that I used 3M industrial double stick tape instead of the stuff that came with the antenna, but I've had no troubles with the antenna hanging onto the very top right of the windshield.
