So, while I have been gone for years, I am Back!  Not that I was a major contributor before, but I am an original 2002 New Avalanche owner, (Still have my Z66 with 182K) and just yesterday am the new owner of a 2013 LS 4X4 with Max Tow.  Yea, I know, not a fancy one, but I have loved my 2002 since new, and needed a new one, especially since I just realized this is the last year.

A couple of questions since obviously a few things have changed over the years! (Like being able to start my Av with my iPhone - Very Cool!)  One - what happened , or how long have the two lights in the bed been gone?  My 2002 has a light in each side of the bed, but the new one only has a light on the left side.  What's up with that?  Any Mods to add the 2nd light?  Also, I took a quick look, is the flag bow tie still available through this group?

I can't tell you how disappointed I was to find out this was the last year for the Av!

Thanks for any info!

Congratulations on your new AV! Nice that you still have the 2002 also.
The 2002 and maybe early 2003 had the dual bed lights. They are the only ones to have two. I had a 2004 and that one only had one bed light. There are many threads about members adding the second bed light or even adding custom LED lighting in the bed.
I haven't seen custom bowtie sales on this site in several years. I think there is a sight sponsor that can make custom decals to cover the bowtie but most members paint their own custom bowtie.

Welcome back!

Congrats!  (y)  What's Max Tow? Is that something different than the optionial towing package?

congrats  and welcome back

Sorry for just responding.....think I used the wrong term. (I almost bought a 4Dr Wrangler Rubicon and 'Max Tow' is the term Jeep uses.  Problem is it still can't tow enough so went back to another Avalanche.

Welcome back, congrats on the new addition, and don't go away this time, stick around, lol

This thread has sparked my next project.  (y)  Instalation of Homelink. Once I can find the part right at about 100$ I will jump on it.

June 2003 trucks had dual lights

Sadly I don’t still have it, I had to leave it in Hawaii when I moved. But yes the dual lights were very nice. I had switched mine out to led for the much brighter coverage in the bed. I even thought of making some contact points to the cover latches so I could put some lights on them. But the led swap worked well enough.

I'm still trying to figure out my 2013..I downloaded a owner's manual but I didn't know about the remote start with the phone, I'll have to look into that! I got it with one key that does not have a chip in it so when I unlock it with the key, it honks until I put the key in the ignition. The fob doesn't work either 🤦‍♀️. My next project is going to the dealership to get two keys cut and two fobs programmed. I think the biggest thing I'm trying to figure out is the air shock system thing, that compressor makes racket, and I don't know if that's normal or it it going out..it's weird..
Congrats on your new AV and I'll watch for any updates you may have!

I really like that AutoRide system. I've replaced both rear shocks due to slow leaks in the rubber bladder. Then last year my noisy air pump, like shaking a metal can with a few stones in it, gave up. Replaced that and again have a solid self leveling truck. You hardly notice the new air pump running.

Lots of info here and Youtube videos to help troubleshoot this AutoRide system.

Sounds like your air compressor has the death rattle.

Swapping out for a new one should help, in that regard.

If your compressor runs a lot, then you most likely have leaking air bladders on one or more of the air shocks.

Grab a bottle of soapy water and see if you can find the leak(s).
