AvaLance/Chief Mini Cruise Pics

Hey, where is the horizon? Well if you were to look through the sunroof you'd see the horizon and Lance's Avalanche. Yup - that is steep!

As I mentioned earlier it took three hours to get across Stevens Pass. Here is a picture I snapped while driving up before I came to a dead stop. Again, the scale isn't reflected well here but the snowbanks are OVER the top of the Avalanche.

How steep is steep? Well it's hard to convey it in pictures.

Anyway I'm hoping these pics will help communicate "steep."
Excellent pictures, Chief. Every day that I look at the pictures and the video from that day, I wished I had been more clued in to what was going on that day. To believe that I was free that day (well, mostly). I could have been free if I'd planned a little better. Oh yeah--I didn't have my Avalanche that weekend--it was still recovering from the last Chief-AvaLance outing. Hopefully I will get it back while there is still some snow to play in.

But yes--you effectively communicated "steep" in these pictures. I've never been that far nose-down, but those times give me the chills. I can see now more clearly how you would have buried your nose in the "flatland" once the hill merged with the level ground. A 30-degree approach angle can be tested whether your flat and challenging a hill or on the hill challenging the flat ground. And if you're doing the latter, you have gravity to contend with also. Looks like a great adventure, although I gotta admit, I'm already a little nervous to get back out there, and I still have a couple more days of painting to wait for.

Hmmm, Maybe I need to move North ;)

But then the only job for me would be at Microsoft and I seriously doubt they would have me.
