the dealer try ed to program my truck but is having problems with my tire pressure monitor not responding does anybody have an idea
It's a dealer problem - mine was done in the allotted 2 hours and no problems with TPMS (or any other) programming.

mine is at the dealer now. no matter how i said it ,i dont think they understood that i want my 2 way- remote start programed. they keep thinking it is the standard unit.well see if they get it right. :B:  i droped it off at 7am, well see how long it takes for them to figure it out.

Good luck - my install went without a hitch.  Your dealer has to access the install instructions through GM so there's no way they can install the box and antenna and not know that they have to program.

Well, i put the rke in and told them just to program it for me so i dont get charged for the install. cause i doubt they know how to stretch that short antenna all the way to the windshield like i did for my buddy to achieve the max range possible.

i installed my oem nav radio with back-up cam and just had them turn it all on and that was confusing for them. so i hope they get the clock and the tpms configured right on this for me. i dont want to have to coach them through it again like last time.. :B:

is there any tips i can give them/us incase they call me and say they are not sure how to do so?or what tech notes they need to look up? i read a few posts back someone said they need to download the original rke file first? any tips can help us out here in the future searches for other members.

ok, they got mine finished in 5 hours. they needed to call gm to figure it out.BUT. everything works on my truck but the clock on the remote. they said it works fine.but it dont. i have the oem nav radio with camera and no rse.

no my friends truck which is the same as mine they said cant be done since he has an aftermarket radio[pioneer d3]. they say the oem needs to be in place.? true? any insight here?

I also have nav, camera and no rse on 2008 Av - no clock on my remote either - everything else works though.

i finely got my remote working the had to put my old box back in and down load the old program from it and the put the new one back in and put the old program back in and up date it. now it works perfect all of it

Im gonna try this out. to set my clock im gonna  wait til 12 noon real time then pull the battery on the remote and hope it resets it to 12 noon and i should be good. ???

well it did reset it to 12 noon. but soon as i went to my avy it sync'd and now has 4 hours of the wrong time. the nav radio clock is correct but my remote keeps syncing the time wrong over and over.

my total cost in this mod was $127 for the unit and $52.50 for the program. so for $179.50 i got 1 hell of a deal. i jus t need the clock to work now...

Trust me the clock will not work with nav radio and back up camara!!! so give up!!!! not suppose to work with all radios!!!!! I have the new remote and thought the same thing that it wasnt working!!!

but the dealer said it does work. i manually reset the clock in the remote by removing battery at 12noon. but soon as i go to the truck and unluck it sync's to the truck and time is now off again.so its the truck sending the wrong data to the remote.

sure. remove center panel above rear window. you will see the tiny rke unit snaped in placed there kinda off center to the right. unplug it,plug in new 2way rke and route the antenna to your desired location. i found a way to make it all the way t othe winshield with mine. it was a tight fit. then have dealer program it and your done. it is way to easy. ill see if i can take some pics for you today. :B:

i took pic for  you guys but i cant post them up for some reason. anyone wanna give me their email so i can fwd them to them so they can post.? this is a very easy install and anyone of you can do this to save money.it all is plug and play.

If you read the directions for the install they ask you to bundle at least four inches of the wire right behind the panel!! Not mount it on the windshield or stretch the wire to the front?? They are pretty specific on how they want the harness run and kit installed!!! I think they did this so they can get the best range for the remote!!!! I dont understand why people are not following the directions but good luck to everyone!!!! :D I installed mine per directions and it works just fine!!!! (y)

i will put it like this, it will always be better not to EVER bundle  RF related items cable if you want the best results possible.and my range is very good in line of sight.

btw: every aftermarket alarm/starter also states do not coil/bundle  antenna wire, run the full length for best results. i chose the windshiled as its the largest piece of glass to get the best signal.the rear or the truck just wont be good enough for me. :B:

i got a copy of the instructions GM has put together, i can type them out if anyone wants a copy.

also, i have some pictures of where our RCDLR is located, as well where i tucked my attn away (if someone can host them for me)

the only problem with installing yourself, i don't have the scan tool (which you are to scan before removal, then it can upload the information to the new RCDLR).  so you will still be required to take it to the dealership to have it programmed for the new remote

i tried swapping it out, the old remotes no longer would work.  the new remote would not sync up.  so i have to head to the dealership tomorrow to get the software upgrade or update whichever to get it running.  i left the old RCDLR inside the liner area plugged in, while the new one is plugged into the new attn and ready for a simple one plug swap when i get to the dealership.  i wanted to keep my factory alarm going as well keyless working.

and lastly this is where i tucked away the attn...  i installed it above the liner, straight to the bare metal of the roof

Finally got my installed LOVE IT!

I like James idea of hiding the antenna.  But the specific directions on wrapping the antenna wire in a figure 8 and the placement of the antenna down to the mm measurement, scared me from adventuring.  That in the almost 12-14 month delay in releasing the remote prompted me to be a direction follower.

ok all this is the new guy here

i just bought a 2007 AV 2LT 3 weeks ago and cant wait to start moding.

just got off the phone with local Chevy Dealer and they said what this remote wont work with my AV.
something about " not wired for it"
what i can see is the RPO code of C49 is what is killing me ( rear defog )
that option is standard if I'm not mistaken right?
i just don't want to order the wrong one or if it really wont work

can you all that do have it installed in a '07 tell me what part number you ordered?? and if you all do really have rear defog????

thanks all

cant wait to get this thing installed if i can

As far as I know, all Avalanches came with rear defrost.

I'd ask them what in particular, is it that is telling them it won't work.
