One of the Lego builders on Brickshelf beat me to the punch, darn them, and built a Lego Avalanche.

for the full folder go here:

For those unfamiliar with Brickshelf, you can click on the "Up" link and view the other items in his folder.  Kind of cool, he's got quite the collection of cars, trucks and aircraft.

It needs LED ambers added but he's got taste, it's cladded.  :D

actually... if I recall back to the last time I was playing with Lego's as a kid (mmm...or more recently...lol)... there actually were opaque amber flat one/third high single dot pieces...? :)

did you all notice the detail on the engine?

did you all notice that even the midgate was functional??? woah!

Very cool...my boy would like that...

got step by step instructions?

Thats Cool  (y) I need to try this now where's my legos :D

Hmmm...anything is for sale for the right price... :0:

I wonder...

My son has been digging through his parts collection tonight ;)

Sadly, he is lacking many of the specialized parts that are in use to make that truck.

LEGO's rock, we had to build a robot man from them as a "team concept" exercize. Only two people from the team could look at the prototype and only one at a time and we couldn't take paper & pencil. Once you opened your bag of Legos you couldn't look again and you had to make an exact copy.

I took charge and my team won, guess you know why I like Legos  ;D

Usually fans don't make instructions or kits out of what they build.  More often than not they themselves don't know or can't remember.  The other big reason for the lack of custom kits is the cost of the medium.  Lego is expensive stuff.  It wouldn't surprise me if that Avalanche as a fan make kit to cost somewhere in the order of $50-$70.

Coming from someone who has toyed with the idea of making custom Lego kits, what would  you be willing to pay for something like that?

That's the bad news, however the good news is that this particular AV isn't that complicated or use many hard to get parts.  (red jumper plates would probably be the hardest to find)  The wheels are tires are from a new set that just came out, that also has loads of red.

I may still do a Lego Av.  But it'll be in a different scale.  More like my  LJ (Lego Jeep)

Legos rock. I am more into the Star Wars lego stuff though. May have to try my hand at the AV Lego Truck.

i put that pic on my desktop and have already had 3 people notice/comment on how kewl that was (y)

A guy at work just picked up a large Staw Wars ship The M-Falcon I think

Large set just under 400

So 50 to 70 for a AV I could deal with.

Right now my wife and boy are working on NASCAR 8's & 24's
