I've tried a search on this subject on this site but can't seem to find any thing. I have service airbag displayed on the DIC. Also, during the last week that this problem has existed, the park assist has been intermittent. I took it to the dealer yesterday, paid them to diagnose the problems and they suspect a bad ground under the drivers seat. They wanted $325 to pull the seat and repair the grounding issue. I declined thinking that I could probably handle that job in a days work. My question is: Has anyone here been through this before?  Are there any TSBs regarding this issue?

SERVICE AIRBAG  DTC B0085

Failure in left front side impact sensor.

Remove the left front door sill and kick panel. Remove the left front door panel. Disconnect the purple/white and white twisted pair at the connectors shown in fig 1 and fig 2. Check for continuity on both wires, if this fails inspect the entire length of the twisted pair. In order to gain access to the wiring remove the instrument panel fuse block cover and disconnect the upper plug with gray tape on the wire bunch. This bunch of wires and the twisted pair are all that pass through to the door. Remove the boot between the body and door and pull the wire bunch out from the body.  On this particular vehicle the fault was found where the wiring passes from the body to the door, fig 3.  Repair the wire and replace all of the parts that were removed. Pay attention to the speaker connection, as this one was corroded. Upon start up the SERVICE AIRBAG in the DIC is gone.

Sensor in doors are more than likely for the side curtain air bags!! So if the door is hit with enough force it will trigger the side airbags!!  (y)
