Quick Power Programmer 3 Question

I am interested in getting the PP3 and someone has one they used that they may be willing to sell me. I've heard that they use serial numbers or something so you can't reprogram multiple cars so I was wondering if there are any problems with picking up one that's been used before on another truck.

As long as the previous owner returned his truck to the stock settings you should be able to use it without trouble.
