For those of us that have been patiently waiting the 2004 GM Gasoline Predator Computer Tuner is now available starting today!!! Here if the "Mother" site for information on the Predator...by the way the 5.3L and 8.1L Avalanche use the same Predator model #. This site does not sell them...just information from the manufacturer...

The following sites sell them (there are others that do also and I am not recommending any of these sites over others). Pricing should be anywhere from $340.00 (rare) to $419.00 (common).

The Predator tuner is arguably the best and most flexable of the hand held tuner varieties and Diablo Sport will custom tune for you...sending the tune via email which you can then download into your handheld. But the Predator will not achieve the status of LS1 edit and/or Wester's PCM. On the other hand you can raise rev limiters, speed limiters, change tire sizes for speedo correction, adjust shift points and firmness as well as read and clear fault codes. In the perfect world a Predator combined with LS1 edit or Westers PCM combined would give HUGE benefits to the Av owner but at a substantial cost.

edit: Oh...and they have a cheap gas (87 octane) tune... (y) (y) (y)

edit 2: Be forewarned, the Predator marries itself to your VIN# and can not be used with other vehicles...However for $75.00 Diablo Sport will clear the tuner so you can sell it...or use it on another vehicle.

The content expressed above is my opinion based on my own research and 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. Your findings may differ.
