CV boot loose on passenger side

I have a 2008 Suburban LTZ with 125k miles on it.  While I was changing the starter last week, I noticed that the inner seal on the CV boot on the right side has slipped off.  As you can imagine there's grease everywhere.  It doesn't appear that the CV boot is damaged.  It's just pulled away from the seal.

Hoping there's an inexpensive fix for this?

I'm new to this forum, is there a way to post a pic in the thread here?

Thanks!

Jeremy

Well good news and bad.

You can buy a new boot with the bands that holds it on and grease for under 20 buck.
Bad news you have to take it apart to get it on.

You should totally re grease it because dirt may have gotten into it.

Opps :welcome: to the forum with your Covered AV

Thanks for the info.  That's what I was guessing.  Sounds like that might be more than I'm willing to tackle.  Is it pretty involved?

"Covered AV"...  I like that.  :D

Yeah we have chopped Burb.

If you are sure you can get all the dirt out and the boot is good, (not cracking)

Just clean it up real good re grease it and use the new bands, but usually once dirt gets in they will out bad eventually.
