Summer tire storage ideas?

Hey all,
This past year i treated myself to summer tires and rims keeping my stock 07 avy 20" rims as my winter tires. I spent a decent amount of dough on my chrome 24" rims and tires and want to keep them protected during the winter months in my garage. I have very little space for storage and are just keeping them standing up next to each other....not stacked. Didn't want to stack in fear of crushing the chrome lips on the bottom tires. Anyway, i'm looking to put some decent tire covers over them as they stand up but can't find anything online that will fit. They are 24" rims on 305/35/24 tires, so they are basically 32" tall x 12" wide. All the storage bags i've seen are for like 18" wheels or smaller. And the covers for stacking them are also too small. Plus the garbage bag idea doesn't work either...not large enough.

Anyone know what tire bags/storage totes will fit over a 32"x12" tire?? Or any other suggestion other than just putting an old comforter or tarp over them?

Thanks in advance!

mine arent my nice wheels but my old wheels are just stacked in my garage between the 2 doors at the front side of the garage... i couldn't imagine stacking them is going to hurt them as long as you're careful and don't slam them together... mine also probably have a little more tire on them though

How about an old sheet? I've got a very expensive Harley in my garage and that's all I use for it in the winter.

If you have available wall space you can look into something like this http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/detail.jsp?ID=164&category=Tire+Storage.  It will keep them up and out of the way.  I just bought winter tires for two of our vehicles and am thinking of building something similar using maybe wood and metal conduit.  Yeah, I'm cheap.

i would say if you are stacking them, maybe even cardboard would work in between each one.

But i would go for the ceiling storage. I just finished building something similar to this, this weekend. Based it on this design... I want to say 2x4's and screws ran me about $20 for everything.

Or you could do something against a wall something that would make a square with the tires so they would lay almost flat against the wall, would use more wall space but if in a tighter area it would be easier to maneuver things around it
