Are you a painter... or a bank robber???   Looks like the same car with 4 different paint jobs!!!!

They are all SVT Ford Contours, I have an obsession with buying/selling/flipping/and parting them out. I've had over 20 of them  :E:.

What is the weight of the Contours? I noticed you don't have a equalizer hitch and it looks like your AV is carrying it real good.
I will be towing a 67 Camaro (3,000 lb.) in a 3,000 lb. trailer so I thought I would need the equalizer.

Roger

Also notice how far back on the trailer the car is.  This will keep the tongue weight manageable.  You don't want to pull it on the whole way to the front.  This is especially true on my Big Tex trailer which seems to have the axles further rearward than most.

You shouldn't have too much trouble if it's a one time deal over a short distance. My 21' Malibu boat is over 5000 lbs on the trailer (and loaded with gear & gas) & the Av handles it fine. I do have the 4.10 rear so the truck does have a little more power than if your running lower gears. If your going over mountain passes or long distances, you might want to think about air bags in the rear.

Also, I tow the boat often enough I wanted to get rid of the sag altogether (especially if the bed is loaded too). So I bought the Firestone Coil-rite air bags for the rear springs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Firestone-4108-Coil-Rite-Air-Bag-Kit-Rear-Tahoe-Yukon-Suburban-Avalanche-/140827511162?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AAvalanche+1500&hash=item20c9f9497a&vxp=mtr. I run about 4 or 5 psi all the time just to keep them situated in the spring. And I pump it up to around 10 or 12 psi if I'm loaded down.

Here we are loaded down & heading to Shasta for a week. Av got around 10 or 11 mpg hauling 4 adults, a weeks worth of gear, the boat & paddleboards. It's tough to tell in the pic, but the truck rides completely level, even loaded down that heavy.

Bill do you also have a equalize hitch with your are air bags?

Roger

I bought the same Firestone Coil Rite bag kit for my '07.

Did you "Y" the airlines together or keep the valves seperated?

Show me some install pics where you put the valves!

No equalizer on the Av pulling my boat.

I kept the air lines separate. Used the air nozzles as the license plate bolts. Kind of an old hot rod trick.    (y)
