Every time that I go tot the local lumber store the kids wanted to come with me. I have since solved the problem. All the rack that i could find did not allow for use of the bed cap, or in one case the side compartments. I can use all compartments and feature of the Avalanche. I am not really a fan  of the front bar but in order to get the strenght and heightfor my sunroof windscreen, I really was left with no real option. I removed the grab handles in the rear and use the 4 torx bolts on the top of the cab for my attachment parts. The "Avalanche" is metal letters that I cut out and glue onto the bar and then sanded off with 80 grit after painting the bar to give it that "brushed" look. I have really loaded it down with the wood (pics are not of the largest load that I had up there and I could still open the gate. Let me know what you think.

I am having some problems adding the pics. Do I really have to wait until someone reads this and relpies to it befreo I can post pictures?

You need a couple more post to be able to do that. OR, you can use an offsite hosting place like Photobucket or Imageshack. Post them there and then copy the img code into the reply box here.

Thanks for the help.
Here is the link to the pics....

on your page, click on the "embed this image" tab then copy the code in the "Forum" box. Paste that code here and the pix will show up like it did for me.

Here's the code for the third pix so you know what to look for.
Code:

why is your truck all wet?
I would guess......... :dunno:

Rain  =  water falling in drops condensed from vapor in the atmosphere.

or the scientific name.... Waterfallingfromthesky

Awesome system brother. Question though, did you make this or design and have it made? I am extremely interested.  And would like to use your idea for the rear rack if that is okay?

I made this myself. The rear support vertical bars are2x2 and the top is 2 inch round. The brackets to hold to the truck are 2x3 tubes welded to angle plate and bolted to the grab handle mounting. The front is also 2 inch round welded to a piece of angle iron. Must admit I wish I had build it a little different but it was what I had laying around. The avalanche writing is stenciled from the front door cladding and cut from 16 gauge steel and then panel bonded to the bar. Used the cladding bolt holes to hold on (I do not rely on those to carry the load and always cinch the load to the box tie Downs). I come here to get ideas and steal ideas and applaud people to take mine.  (y)
