It looks good, clean lines to the EXT, vs. The AV. What I like on the EXTover the AV, is the fact of the 6.0L LQ9 engine vs the 5.3L in the AV.

Hence why im running a 6.0L

Yep, one of the main reasons I went with the EXT this time…the 6.2L is sweet!
There "are" some closet EXT fans here after all.

I've. Hotrodded Caddys for a long time and I traded in my 466 h.p (yes that's correct) fwd 2000 caddy eldo ECT. I swapped all four cams in the Northstar as well as higher amp alt, dynomax exhaust, cold air intake, msd coils, casper electronics throttle position enhancer. I was very happy when caddy started getting into the performance aspect after the 2004 season.

Steel, pm me your addy. I'll give you something that will compliment the EXT. K

You won’t regret it…as long as you don’t try to rationally justify the $15k premium over the Av. If you like it and can afford it…buy it.
I think the ‘07+ Av is a great truck and I probably would have bought another one if GM put the 6.2L in it. I tow 7000 lbs often and the 5.3L just wasn’t cutting it for me. So I started looking at the EXT and the “styling” enhancements just hooked me once I actually took one for a drive.
Other than the aesthetic changes and the additional power of the 6.2L, the EXT doesn’t feel much different than my ’07 Av LTZ. However, the EXT interior does feel narrower than my ’07 Av for some reason…my wife thinks so too. Might be the different dash/console design…I don’t think GM narrowed the Av/EXT since ’07 have they?
All-in-all, I’m very pleased with the EXT so far. The only downside is the real possibility that this may be my last one, if GM decides to kill the Av.

Looks good. I totaled my Av last week and I looking at replacing it with a '08 EXT. Just have to get use to the idea of having payments again.
How many cigarette lighter power outlets are there in the front?

There’s one in the ashtray with a lighter in it and one inside the center console along with the USB port.

Does the USB work with a Key with MP3s on it?

Yes, I believe it does, although I haven’t actually tried it yet.
EDIT (4/10/11): Ok, I’ve confirmed it works. I just put 135 mp3’s on a USB memory stick and it plays fine. Shows you all the song titles in a playlist on the Nav screen.
I have plugged my iPod into the USB and it works perfectly…I can control everything right from the Nav touch screen.

that's a nice truck you got there!
i would have bought an EXT back in '06, but $50k for a 2007 EXT vs. $24k (with all the discounts) for a 2006 LS made it a no-brainer
enjoy!!

That is a beautiful EXT! How's the updated nav screen? I have an 07 escalade with the factory nav and I'm thinking about upgrading to the new one with iPod/USB support.

Having the larger screen is a nice change from my ’07 Av. Nav function is pretty much the same. The iPod/USB integration works very well; as does the Bluetooth.
Overall, the EXT has proven to be a very nice upgrade from my ’07 Av. No complaints.

Yes, I have the Y91. The system sounds a bit warmer with slightly more punch, but nothing I’d call significant.
I attribute the improvement to the EXT riding much quieter inside than my ’07 Av did. I doubt there’s much difference in the Bose system.

Nah, I wasn’t going to drive the EXT in the winter anyway…I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for the messy months.
As for hauling duties, I have a 16’ flatbed trailer that I can tow with the wife’s Denali if need be.
The EXT was a seriously nice truck, but my garage was getting crowded, so I decided to consolidate some depreciating assets and traded the EXT and my ’09 Corvette in for the new 2012 Z06 Centennial Edition Corvette. Now I have more space in my garage and the Z06 has its own room.

The floor is RaceDeck Diamond and it was far from cheap ($4/sq ft). Professionally applied Epoxy-type coatings were in the same price range, but they couldn’t give me the design flare that the RaceDeck provided. Makes for a great party room in the summer too.

RaceDeck is an interlocking floating floor system. The link I posted above is the manufacturer website; they have a great photo gallery of RaceDeck installations…. great product, very durable and easy to maintain.

I've seen various interlocking systems...holding up well? Any issues with it un-interlocking? That's why I asked about gluing it down. I saved the link to the site by the way. Might be an option for me in the future. What about things like rolling around on the creeper to get under a vehicle? Does it roll OK or do you kinda sink in?

You won’t ever have to worry about RaceDeck unintentionally unlocking, it has a very robust hook-in-loop snap-lock system. In fact it takes a specific procedure (outlined on their website) if you want to unlock a panel and pop it out for replacement.
No problem rolling around on a creeper if you wish. Racedeck is very solid with a light diamond plate pattern…nothing that will interfere with a creeper. I do however place a piece of 3/8” plywood underneath my floor jack when I use it. Weight concentrated in a small area like the floor jack wheels will leave an indentation.
Another tip, make sure you leave about 3/8” expansion gap around the perimeter when you install Racedeck so it doesn’t buckle when it expands. Since it is a floating floor system, it does expand and contract with temperature swings.
I researched a number of these interlocking floor systems, RaceDeck and Swisstrax (a favorite in Jay Leno’s Garage) are the top dogs…stay away from the crap they sell at Lowe’s, Sears and the like; they don’t compare in quality.

Thanks. It's nice to get some real-world info from an actual user of a product.

Well, I guess I’ll be banned now…the EXT is gone after just 6 months. It was a fantastic truck, but I just wasn’t getting much use out of it; I have too many vehicles. So I traded it in over the weekend for this:
2012 Corvette Z06 Centennial/Carbon 3LZ…now this is FUN!
Have to say, I don't blame you! I absolutely love my Avy but would trade it in a heartbeat for that vette!
