I know we are still trying to get the Cabelas GTG together, but I thought we can start discussing the next meet. Maybe we can talk about some of the ideas while we are at Cabelas. Below are a few suggestions, if anyone likes any of them we can start coming up with a set date. Please also add some more ideas, hopefully we can find something we can all attend. My personal favorite idea is the Long Beach, WA on 4th of July. My family and some friends went last year and had a blast. It’s close for both Washington and Oregon members to attend. There is a nice campground, Cape Disappointment http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selectedpark=Cape%20Disappointment, which has two light houses that you can tour. There is a fireworks show on both the 3rd and the 4th, also a cool parade on the 4th that anyone can enter (maybe we could enter a train of Avy’s). And the best part of all, 28 miles of beach to cruise and BBQ on. Check out this link to see all that Long Beach has to offer http://www.funbeach.com/ . We have already reserved a room for this year; places get booked up quick so if anyone is interested I would suggest making reservations now. The funbeach link also has a great list of area lodging. GTG Ideas: May – Mt Rainier Cruise/Picnic/Mods (I missed the last one, looked like lots of fun) June – Olympic Game Farm cruise & lunch/Sequim WA. July – 4th of July @ Long Beach WA– w/Oregon Members August – Summer BBQ(volley ball) – Lake Sammamish Thanks, Hope to see everyone at Cabela's

those are some great ideas. I love it. Rainier was a good time. We found a nice parking lot and grilling area to pull off and eat. It was awesome.

Ditto! Except 4th of July. We do a big fireworks display in my hood, and as the current HOA president, I have to watch out for everyone's safety. I also need to light off the loudest works I can buy. Anyone who lives close by and would like to partipate in lighting off fireworks (if it is banned in your hood), let me know so we can Bar-b-q in the park before hand.

Sounds like a good idea. When is a good day that we can meet? I'm always down with going to Hooters. Or we could go to Wingers, it's just down the road and it's pretty good.

Sounds good to me. How about we do a bbq/potluck type meet. We could meet at a state park, maybe plan some mods or play some volleyball. Maybe meet somwhere that is a little more north so that its equal distance for both members up north and in the south. Any suggestions on where to meet and a good weekend that you are available please post them so we can start planning.

I have time off work for July 21-24 and August 11-20. I plan on doing a road trip in August(no destination set yet), so if something is happening around then i can easily get in on the get together.

I'm pretty much open most weekends unless golfing is a priority......which hasn't been much lately. I'm on vacation from July 18th - 25th. I wouldn't wind up doing an over nighter but willing to spend the day with the AVY crew. Plus Doug would like to take a peak at my tune so hopefully he can join as well.

I'm on vacation now, deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Man I am so sun burned. I will be back to Washington next Monday, then going camping the next Friday and Saturday at Iron Creek. Would like to see some members there, but we booked 6 months ago and not sure if there are spots available. Tom

I know you guys do ...... that's apparent from the surfing I've done on this site already......lol
I just didn't know how the plans would go......over nighter or day trip. I would probably only be able to do the day trip but thought it would be cool to do that if anything.

I think it would be good to do a BBQ on saturday. We could find a park close to Chehalis and schedule that. I have been a little quite with the new baby and new job, my priorites have shifted. If someone wants to do the leg work for the site, I can put together the thread to let everyone know and help coordinate the carAVan down that way from up here. let me know. doesn't have to be anything fancy, burgs and dogs with some sides and chips.
hit me up
Matt

Chehalis has a few parks with rental fees for covered areas and such. But the parks also have uncovered areas for GTG's. Stan Hedwall park is right off the freeway with little league fields, softball fields and an RV area. Don't know what people want. I'd have to contact them to see what the rental fee would be for the covered area and if reservations are needed. They have wood burning pits for barbecues, unless someone is bringing the grill.

What about Seaquest State Park like last time? No money involved if I remember correctly, just have to reserve it. And even if the main picnic area is taken, the day use area is huge with tons of picnic tables. http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selectedpark=Seaquest&subject=all

Here's info on Stan Hedwall park: http://ci.chehalis.wa.us/parksandrecreation/stan-hedwall-parkLook towards the bottom of the page about the covered shelter area ....... has wood burning pits and all. Plus it's pretty convenient for a one day event. It's right off the freeway and easy access. I will call and get details and report back.

I would love to make one of these GTG's someday but I can't do the 27th as I have to cover a supervisor slot at work that day, due to others on vacation. It's a dayshift slot and I probably wouldn't be able to make it down until late ....... so I'd have to be counted out for that day.

Thanks blkbullet. To get it like that you need to sand and sand, than sand some more. Next paint it, and sand some more.

There's so many things I want to do to mine, but of course time and money are holding me up right now......especially painting the cladding but now that winter's coming along, the paint project will probably be on hold.
My next project is the tail lights......bought some Night Shades paint by Krylon. Going to tint paint and clear coat them.

Hey Tom!! How's it going?
Been away from the site for a little but hopeful to get back here and there. Did you get your stage 2 done yet?
BTW -- if anyone needs a 60" tail gate bar, I have one to give away. It's free -- just pick it up. I'll even meet up with someone to give it to them if they want it.......of course within reasonable distance.

It's the so called "Line of Fire" style. Mounts to the tailgate and can be hard wired or use your trailer hitch plug. It has the turn signal, brake lights, reverse lights, and hazard ..........I have two of them and only need one. So the spare is up for anyone who wants it.

Nice meeting you today Patrick. Too bad it was on the side of the freeway. The line of fire bar is a Fire and Ice style so I'm not going to mess with it, just install it. I was needing more light for the back up camera and that should do the trick. Thanks again. Tom I got it installed already. Had to mod it though (can never leave things alone). I don't like attaching it to the tailgate, so I reversed mounted it to the bumper and switched the turn signal wires. I added my two white led strips on top I used for reverse before. I really like it.

Good meeting you as well Tom!! Light bar looks great........I'm hopeful to get installed this weekend. I want to hard wire it so hopefully that doesn't cause to many problems........lol.
I'm also going to try to get the night shades paint on my tail lights as well........pending the temps this weekend.

Hard wiring will involve splitting open the harness unless you buy a T adapter for the socket. I added a female 4 pin harness to the trailer harness I got cheap at the parts store.
I'm toying with the idea of a GTG on Sunday the 13th of November. It would be up towards Seattle and would involve Superwagon doing some tunes if he can make it. Would you be interested in attending Patrick and anyone else?

Pretty sure i can make that one........no plans on the horizon at this point.
How did you work the trailer pin with leaving the front portion of the trailer harness still available? Guess I'm at a loss as how you did it, because when I crawled underneath, I don't see the area to place the 4 pin without getting into the wiring harness. I see you still have the round connector on the outside of the bumper still available.

With the T harness you unplug the harness from the factory socket and insert in between. What I did was spice an additional 4 pin harness into the factory one.

You sure you want to have the GTG up towards Seattle?? With the Alaskan Way Viaduct coming down, traffic is a nightmare up there right now.......... ....... I'm game either way though. Just have to mark it on the calendar so the fiance doesn't take that day away from me. Hey Tom.....I shot you a message..... BTW .... it would be nice to get fyrfytr, BCmountaneer, and a few of the others who have been looking to attend at this one as well...

It's a bit too far for me. I have some training going on for the next month that will require me to stay close to home. Given the snow we have I'd like to do a GTG in Florida or Arizona soon
