Radio Plugged into 12volt Aux - Hot all the time
«

Help I keep killing my battery.
I plug my Sirius radio into one of the 12volt Aux ports on the dash. These are hot all the time and I forget to turn off the radio.
Is there a way to make these switched so the power is only on when ignition is on?
Anyone have any ideas?

What I did was buy a 12vdc outlet thingy.
hide it under dash... and
wire it to a fuse on side that was hot only with ignition on...
Grounded it under dash somewhere....
then plugged in XM radio power doohicky thingy

I'm looking for the same solution for my 2002 1500... How can I remove my power acc outlets (without any special tools) and switch one?

Done
Purchased a 12vdc outlet thingy from Radio Shack.
Hit it under the cup holders.
Wire it to a fuse on side that was hot only with ignition on...
Grounded it under cup holders
then plugged in Sirius radio power doohicky thingy.
Ran the cord under the dash.
Looks clean and no mode dead batterys. Plus I still have by two 12volt aux free to use.
