Happy belated Owners day to my AVY.

Sept 22, 2001 was the day I purchased my AVY from Sewell Caddy in NO

I was looking for a burban as I traded in a tahoe I had but did not like.

My only request was 2wd and loaded.... so my sales guy (Family friend) showed me a Z66 in pewter....
Took test drive and after a mile or so we negotiated price in truck - no lots of room back then but I was happy.

She has about 174K on here now and if I remember right about 4200 hours.
I do not drive her as much as I used to as she is the second car - but I do drive her at least once a month to stretch her legs and ensure seals and bearings etc get a work out.

Well 20 years is the longest I have owned any vehicle
Still happy and will keep her until she passes into the junkyard in the sky.

Congratulations!!!

My 20 year mark with be 5 May 2022. I traded in a 1996 Dodge Ram Club Cab 4X4. (I still wonder where that truck is now). I bought my 2500 from Family Chevrolet in Shingle Springs, California. Since they did not have any 2500's in stock, mine had to be ordered. It came in and I picked it up on the 5th.

Since then I've put 235k or so on the Avalanche, the selling dealer has gone out of business and my registration has gone down from over $600 to just under $400 this year. Life is good.

$400 will get you 10 years of vehicle registration here with enough left over for a nice lunch every year.

Dang.

I spend $28 a year for state registration.

Once they get 10 years old tax portion goes to $5 a year.

Just got a crack in my GM windshield yesterday. Just another discontinued item from them.... Great.
I would think the windshield would be the same for all GM AVs and Suburbans and Tahoes at least until 2006 models. Not sure if same windshield was used in second gen or not.

safelite ... they have em.

20 years coming up here also it will be 20 years on 11/23, it was born on 07/19/2001... Has 277,000 plus miles, original motor, trans, t-case and both diffs...

Best vehicle I've ever owned..

Amazing how many charter members get pulled out of their hole when a post like this comes around.

Holes pretty shallow because I post on here all the time..

I seen this thread and had to look up my purchase date. Found my Avalanche is old enough to vote/drink. My purchase date way 07-07-2001. Price was a little over $37,000. I have post dating back to Feb, 2002.

I'm about a week away next Wednesday
